Today I had lunch with a couple of JAFF writers. (Names withheld to protect the guilty…) One was visiting town and the other lives here, but we hadn’t met before today. I cannot tell you what a pleasure it was to talk shop with other authors. We talked about stories we have read and such, but the fun part was when we started talking about how we craft our own tales. We discussed a little about how our writing has evolved and the difficulties of editing down a story to it’s most streamlined form. I wish I could go on, but life intruded. I was a little miffed at my on-loan son for having gall to tell me it was time to pick him up from practice. Drat. Some times I hate being responsible.
Thanks, ladies, this afternoon was a pleasure.
