Letters 15

Since it’s been a while, I’ve left you a longer than normal chunk. This section ends much better than the previous one. And now that I’m done I can go to bed. It’s very late in the Valley of the Sun.

I’m trying!

Hey folks,

I had hoped to post an update to Letters by now but I’ve been fighting a massive case of writer’s block. The good news is that I’ve written enough to warrant a new post (or two). The bad news is that I’ve been fighting a massive headache today. Also, it has become apparent that I need to go back to the beginning and create a running timeline so I know where I am against cannon, as well as create a character’s list so I can remember who is who. It shouldn’t be too difficult, as I created my own list of names for my stories a few years back with No More Tears. Once I have these two things done, I can edit and post the next chunk. My goal is that this is done by bedtime on Thursday, October 18th. You can send me emails to encourage me to get my act together over the next 48 hours.

Cheers!

Okay, I’ve been contemplating some small changes and they are now part of my working document of this story. They have not been changed here. Just know that I’ve removed any instance where Darcy and Mrs. Collins come into physical contact with each other. I want the first time they touch to be powerful, and it is in IMHO. It’s written, but there is a long way to go before you get there. In the mean time, I’m offering up the next section of the story as a consolation. With my son gone for the summer with The Cavalier and life slowing for a bit, I’m turning my attention back to Letters. And I have a confession to make. I’ve been a bit stuck on the next thing to write. I know what I want to do, now the distractions are gone and I shall plow through it. I shall conquer this!

Life is settling down

The Progeny is off to drum corps for the summer and my muse is starting to awake! Meawhile, if you are interested in seeing what the hubbub is all about you can see a show in the air conditioned comfort of a movie theater. Click on this banner and check out the info. Go Cavaliers!

It’s already April?

Oh my, the first 3 months of 2012 are gone! I’m still trying to figure out where they went.

I’m alive, as you can see. Life has been full.

The Progeny has won a spot with The Cavaliers to march this summer in Drum Corp International. That was a huge surprise to us as we thought he would need one more year with The Academy before he was ready musically to make a top-three corp. Obviously, we couldn’t be more proud of him. Needless to say, it has been an emotionally draining time.

I’m also coaching track and field right now. This year they are even paying me for it!

All this to explain why absolutely no writing has occurred since I last posted an installment of Letters. I’ve been reading in my spare time to help me through the stress and as a way to get some studying in. I do learn a lot by reading and feeling what works and what does not. And yes, I would rather be writing!

The writing is slow. I’ve enough new material to post more for you today. I moved the tab thingy so you don’t have to scroll down. I’m in a generous mood. 🙂

Letters 12

Like a lot of folks, our income has fallen off a bit due to the economic times. My job is as a bookkeeper for the family’s construction business. We are celebrating 42 years in business this month. That’s a very long time to be around, especially for a contractor. Alas, times are tough right now and my hours are next to nothing. I make enough to cover gas and a bit of groceries, but that’s about all. And I have a child who excels in music. He has dreams and we are trying to help him live them within our means. Sooooo, I’m looking to publish some of my old work. At this point in time I do not plan to take down anything that is complete. I’ll leave those there to help inspire a new generation of writers like the old guard did for me. However, it is possible that this story will not remain online after I finish the rough draft I’m posting. We’ll see, but I wanted to be up front about things. My husband will become my main editor – he’s actually a great editor though he’s been reluctant to join in with me. I’ll keep you all informed as decisions are made. Until then, thanks for coming along with me on this journey. This story tends to fight me. Sometimes it is just hard to keep moving forward and not rush the pace. I’m trying! LOL!

Happy reading.

Letters 11

Hello folks. We’ve had a lot of excitement in our house and as such, writing has been spotty. I decided a few days ago that I really needed to post something for my followers and started to review the section to get it ready. I realized I needed to add a bit more to a scene and it took me a few days to have the time and peace and quiet to fix it. I finally figured it out today and am ready to release the next part. It even includes a letter or two.

I even moved the page holder thingy down to the right section. Yay me!

Enjoy.
